Hardy's Bay Walk

A variable length return walk along Hardy's Bay foreshore.

Hardys bay
There are picturesque views of Hardys Bay along the walk.
On the way to Hardy's Bay stop at Marie Byles lookout where there are spectacular views of Putty Beach, Broken Bay, Barrenjoey Head, West Head and Pittwater in the distance. The lookout is located on the Scenic Road at Kilcare and named after Marie Byles who campaigned for the area to be conserved for public use. It eventually became known as Bouddi National Park.

Once at Hardy's Bay walk from the shops along the grassed area bordering the bay. About half way round it is easier to walk along the edge of the road as it is very quiet. There are plenty of boats on the water and views of the Rip bridge in the distance. Many boats were strewn along the water's edge and we discovered most had council notices on them for removal as they were regarded as abandoned/derelict.

At the end of the tarred road is a dirt road through the public reserve linking Hardys Bay with Pretty Beach and the other end of Araleun Drive. This was popular for walking dogs.

The grassed area just along from the shops.
The road turns to the right at the end of the
grass strip with more picnic tables and seats
along the water's edge.
There are cafes for coffee or lunch. If walking in the afternoon on the weekend be aware that cafes close at 4pm. We missed our cuppa the first time, however have revisited many times as it is a pretty spot.
